RHSF Lab 8.7: field solutions to prevent forced and child labour

Published on Dec 10, 2020

On the occasion of the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery on 2 December 2020 and the International Human Rights Day on 10 December 2020, the NGO Ressources humaines Sans Frontières, which fights against child and forced labour, announces the orientations defined by Lab 8.7, its incubation laboratory for field solutions.

Until 2025, the experiments carried out in the subcontracting chains of our partner companies will cover three main orientations: protection of workers throughout the recruitment process, via fair recruitment channels, education and skills for the future in agriculture, and responsible management of the workforce. Details of these projects are described on the RHSF website : https://www.rhsansfrontieres.org/en/rhsf-in-the-field/

Established with the support of committed companies and the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Lab 8.7* brings together pioneering actors in the experimentation of operational solutions to prevent forced and child labour. Lab 8.7’s experiments will make it possible to validate, with the support of academic experts and international organisations, its solutions, which will then be disseminated to all the players concerned. No turnkey solution exists to date.

Today, forced labour and child labour can be found in subcontracting chains in all sectors of activity throughout the world.

Being part of Lab 8.7 means contributing to the design of innovative, pragmatic and sustainable solutions and putting into practice an ambitious and effective CSR policy. It also means enabling the greatest number of people to benefit fully from these solutions; the partners are therefore committed to sharing their feedback.

Lab 8.7 is: RHSF, NGOs in the field, committed companies, a network of NGOs in the field, concrete solutions tested, an exchange of feedback… Companies interested in Lab 8.7 are invited to contact RHSF at contact@rhsansfrontieres.fr.

About RHSF :

Ressources humaines Sans Frontières (RHSF – https://www.rhsansfrontieres.org/), a “general interest” association, has the mission of preventing the risks of child labour, forced labour and, more broadly, indecent work in subcontracting chains. RHSF relies on its international network to propose an effective field approach. It focuses its action on testing pilot prevention solutions with companies and their subcontractors, and sharing its expertise with all those working for decent work throughout subcontracting chains.
